ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Computer science department was established in the year of 2019 with the aim to develop core competence in Computer Science initially with B.Sc. CS and later upgraded as PG Department of Computer Science on 2022 to prepare the students to carry out development work, as well as take up challenges in research. And we extended our department with another UG Course B.Sc. (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) in 2024.
      The Computer Science Department helps students to develop and practice their abilities as computer professionals, as well as conduct research and/or lead, create, develop, or maintain software applications for real-world problems. Admission for these courses is conducted as per university norms. The majority of the students come from rural, less privileged areas and we feel that our graduate students will be fit to face the challenges of the modern technological world. This goes hand in hand with the motto of our college “Empowerment of Women”.

         To empower the graduates to be technologically adept, innovative, self-motivated and responsible citizens, possessing human values and contribute significantly towards being a centre of excellence in providing globally standard education, through a conductive Teaching and Research environment, that responds swiftly to the challenges of the ever changing world. To be in the frontier of Computer Science and to produce globally competent graduates with moral values committed to build vibrant nation.
MISSION:
       The mission of the Department of Computer Science is to provide quality undergraduate and graduate education in computer science so as to prepare our graduates to compete in the job market and to contribute to the economic, scientific, and social development of the Middle Tennessee area, the State of Tennessee, and the Nation. The Department will promote excellence in teaching, scholarly activity, creative endeavours, and public service. The curriculum will be grounded in the fundamental principles of computing and will prepare our students to apply these principles creatively and responsibly with a high degree of professionalism and a clear understanding of ethical and legal issues in computer science. The Department will utilize available resources to impart state-of-the-art technical knowledge, develop students’ verbal and written communication skills, and instil a desire to pursue lifelong learning.
