About the Department

Department of Physics was established in the year 2019 and it’s successfully running in our college. Well Organized lab facilities available in our department. It offers, Add on Course. We provides high quality of education. The department continuously provides the opportunity to explore their potential through seminars, conferences, internships and industrial visit. We also encourage our students to participate inter and intra collegiate competitions and events to show their talents and skills.

Department of Physics Organized a one day Industrial visit to Birla Planetarium, Which is located in Chennai on 19.07.2023. Our Department 4 Students got University Rank. Now, Our students are placed in various companies like TCS, EQUITAS, BLUECHIP, MUTHOOT FINANCE, TVS, SSVM SCHOOL, etc.

Our department organized a one day internship program on medical instrumentation on 07.09.2023 through to this internships program our students learned about the testing methods of blood and stitching.

Department of Physics organized two-days industrial visit to Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, which is located in Tirunelveli.

Our department organized a one-day industrial visit to ISRO, 36 Students along with 2 faculty members have joined this Industrial visit. Which is located at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh on 05.03.2024 for the purpose of study about the ISRO’s Space science Programme started with studies of upper atmosphere using Sounding rockets.

Association Inauguration

Department of Physics inaugurated Epsilon Association 2023 on 16.07.2023 and on the same day our department conducted a guest lecture on Physics for future.

Industrial Visit

Department of Physics Organized a one day Industrial visit to Birla Planetarium, Which is located in Chennai on 19.07.2023 . Overall 50 Students along with four Faculty member have joined this Industrial visit.
Department of Physics organized two-days industrial visit to Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, which is located in Tirunelveli on 01.11.2023, 02.11.2023. Totally 44 students along with 4 faculty members have joined this Industrial visit. Through to this visit our Students understood the purpose of study the Nuclear energy. The first day of the visit We visited the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant.
Department of Physics organized a one-day industrial visit to Vainu Bappu Observatory, 53 students along with 6 faculty members have joined this Industrial visit. Which is located in Jawadi Hills on 16.02.2024 for the purpose of study about the Front-line research is being carried out With the help of the optical telescope.

Intracollege Event

Arasu College of Arts and science for women organized a two days Arasu Elysium- 2023 program on 20,21.06.2023 for First year Students. 25 Events were Conducted in this program. Our Department Students Participated and Won the Prizes in this Events.
Department of physics Organized a Science day on 28.02.2024. We conduct the Physics related Essay Competition, Drawing Competitions, and project Display. Students are actively involved in this Events won the prizes.

Conference

An one day international conference Organized by Research department of physics, Saradha Niketan college for women, karur on 12.02.2024 on Interdisciplinary approaches in Mathematics and Science (IAMS 2024) for Oral Presentation and Poster Presentation.. In this conference many faculty members, Scholars and PG students are participated. Our department student V. Prona pursuing 1st year has won the best Oral Presentation award among the all participants.
In Arasu College of arts and science for women, Department of Physics and PG Department of Mathematics jointly organized a One day international conference on 04.03.2024 on Computational Mathematics & Applied Science ICCMAS-2024 for oral and poster presentation. So many students Presented a paper and oral presentation.Our Department I.B.Sc Student V.Prona has won the best oral presentation award among all the participants.

Best Oral Presentation Award

An one day international conference organized by Research department of Physics, Jairams arts and Science college, Karur on 13.02.2024 on Advanced material in science. In this paper and poster presentation session 13 students presented a oral and poster presentation. Our Department Student B. Akshaya from III B.Sc physics won the best oral presentation award in which more than 15 member. S. Keerthana from III B.Sc Physics and L.Navina from 1st B.Sc Physics got best poster presentation award in which more than 60 members.

Department of Physics - MoU Details 2024-2025

MoU Signed with Kudankulam Nuclear Power Station – 07.08.2024

Organized by: PG Department of Physics, Arasu College of Arts and Science for Women, Karur

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the PG Department of Physics and Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant.

Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (or Kudankulam NPP or KKNPP) is the largest nuclear power station in India.Nuclear facility having the capability to use thorium fuel cycle and produce uranium fissile atoms that can be further used with plutonium atoms for chemical reactions.

Through this partnership, we aim to promote Fission and Fusion Reaction, Power Generated.

The collaboration will open up new avenues for students to know about Enhancing the skill and Knowledge of Employees and students.

MoU Signed with 360 Flying Club – 20.02.2025

Organized by: PG Department of Physics, Arasu College of Arts and Science for Women, Karur

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the PG Department of Physics and 360 Flying Club.

360 Flying club or aero club is a not-for-profit, member-run organization that provides its members with affordable access to aircraft.

Through this partnership, we aim to promote Drone Pilot Training, Assemble and Reassemble Drone.

The collaboration will open up new avenues for students in Aero sport activities, Drone ( Assemble & Reassemble) career development through certified courses and programs.
